El Festival de Jazz de Lucena contaba con un atractivo programa doble para la noche del sábado. Abría la jornada en la Plaza de Archidona la formación del pianista lucentino Juan María Villa, junto al veterano Francis Posé (Contrabajo) y Alejandro Parrado (Batería). From Classic to Jazzy invitaba a los espectadores que llenaron la plaza a hacer un ejercicio de imaginación sonora a través de un concierto que fusionó la grandeza clásica con la improvisación jazzística, con arreglos de piezas muy conocidas del repertorio clásico y composiciones propias de Juan María Villa. 

Nada más concluir el primero de los conciertos, la banda The Choco's Hot Seven, que partía desde la propia plaza de Archidona para llevar a los espectadores en un pasacalles musical hasta el escenario del Paseo del Coso, donde Daniel Abad (tuba), Mario Pousada (banjo), Álvaro Blas (tabla de lavar), Nacho Botonero (corneta), Israel Lino (trombón), Ernesto Naranjo (clarinete) y Samuel Rigal (bombo y claqué) nos dejaron un divertido y vibrante paseo por el Blues y el RagTime, que recupera el sonido del cornetista Charles "Buddy" Bolden, considerado como uno de los padres y fundadores del jazz.

Previamente, el viernes, era el turno para un concierto internacional con la voz de la cantante estadounidense afincada en Sevilla, Io Owolabi, en formato de cuarteto, acompañada por Trevor Coleman al piano, el baterista Thibault Benoit y la contrabajista Gal Maestro.
